Run by teachers for teachers

We are a small, family run business established by Alan and Veronica Marett in 1989. Since opening we have welcomed more than 50,000 children and 6,000 teachers, served 190,000 cooked breakfasts and crossed the marshes at Blakeney more than 1200 times!!

Alan and Veronica are experienced teachers (Alan was an SEN specialist and Veronica was a headteacher) who have worked hard to provide exactly the Centre that they would have liked to visit. Both had extensive experience of taking their own schools on residential visits and therefore knew exactly what worked and what didn’t.

The end result is Aylmerton Field Study Centre, providing such excellent residential educational visits that schools return to us year after year – some are now in their 21st season. They do this because we are, in their opinion, unmatched by any other Centre.
