Life jackets

We have always considered any possible risks in any of our activities and found a way to make that activity wholly safe, regardless of whether it is legally required or not.

As an example, we considered that the risk of taking children on boats on The Broads or to see the seals at Blakeney without actually wearing life jackets was unacceptable. (The boats obviously carry sufficient life jackets but these are stored under the seats.)

We therefore purchased sufficient high quality life jackets (EN395 - 100 Newton) so that every child was able to wear a correctly fitting life jacket for either of these activities.

We did this long before the law required to, and long before any other Centre in Norfolk was doing so. Norfolk LEA now recommends us to schools who require life jackets for hire.

It was quite an enlightening experience. It will help in the way we deal with the coming weeks. I am very grateful for that
