We can accommodate up to 90 pupils and 12 leaders at Aylmerton in three separate buildings. ALL BEDDING IS PROVIDED and your beds will be made up with fitted sheets, pillows and duvets (with covers) prior to your arrival.
Our largest building is The School, sleeping up to 48 children in four dormitories, three of which have an attached leader’s single bedroom. There is a further leader’s bedroom downstairs and the option of another leader’s room if required. Each dormitory has its own en-suite toilet and shower facilities so there is absolutely no excuse for children to be found out of their dormitories after lights out! The School also houses our three separate dining rooms and a classroom as well as a large staff room.
Our smaller building is The Lodge which was purpose built in 1996 and recently extended. This is ideal for smaller groups and can sleep up to 29 children in five smaller bedrooms with en-suite facilities and 2 leaders in a twin bedroom with en-suite facilities. There is a further en-suite bedroom which can either be used for up to 4 children or as an extremely spacious leader’s room with two or three beds. The Lodge also has a small staff room.
Finally, for extremely large groups, we have The Annexe which can accommodate a further 12 children and 2 adults. We also have a laundry and drying room, in the event of “accidents”. All accommodation is centrally heated and extremely warm and cosy to return to on a cold winter’s day!
If required, you may book the entire centre for your sole use subject to a minimum number of paying guests. This varies according to the time of year but can be as low as 40 in January rising to 70+ post-SATS. Smaller groups are able to book either The School or The Lodge (either with the option of The Annexe if required) and will have sole use of that accommodation with the exception of mealtimes when groups from The Lodge will have access to their own separate dining room in The School. As a result, no group will ever be disturbed by another. WE DO NOT DO SHARING!
Outside facilities include a large playing field with volleyball nets and/or goalposts as well as an excellent purpose built agility course. We also have The Pavilion which is extremely spacious and doubles as a meeting room and/or location for team building activities on wet days and as a games room in the evenings with table tennis tables and a bouldering wall. The edge of the National Trust estate of Felbrigg is directly across a quiet country road and we use the extensive woodlands there for many of our activities.
